Bias Tape

Non-stretchable Fabrics cut into strips diagonally and lengthened by sewing every piece together are called Bias Tape. Thin bias tapes used in collars, skirts, sleeves and hems of a clothing are cut yarn like piece of fabrics used in ready-to-wear and textile, sometimes to conceal the defects şn the collars and edges, or instead of accessories. These are used to provide a smooth edge in clothes or for design purposes. They are usually made from the fabric of the garment itself or from another product in a suitable color.

Bias tapes are used in a very wide range of areas. These are generally used in the textile industry to conceal and reinforce seams, either from its own fabric or from other fabrics.

Bias tape is also used in home decoration. For example, this can be preferred in sofa upholstery and cushion designs. Bias tape, which is mostly sold by meter, is offered to consumers with different color, pattern, width and texture options. Bias tape can also be prepared in ribbed form, and ribbed bias offers a fuller appearance as it is threaded through a material like a thread.

Jacquard Narrow Woven Bias Tapes can be in the form of ribbons and elastic. Again, both types contain various colors and patterns. Jacquard narrow woven bias tapes are frequently used especially in drawstrings of tracksuits, boxer elastics, shoe laces and card threads. Plain Narrow Woven Bias Tapes have a wider range such as woven, cotton, patterned knit, column, reflective and ribbon. Woven tape is used in many textile products from underwear to bags, zippers to clothing patterns. Narrow woven tape that comes our ways everywhere, is produced from synthetic blended yarns such as cotton and polyester. Cotton Bias is preferred in narrow woven areas such as clothing (underwear and outerwear), shoes, belts and bags, home textiles, packages and packs, considering the customer demand. Herringbone Bias is used to conceal visible overlock seams or fabric defects, as an accessory on thin fabrics, to prevent tearing of the fabric because of the buttons, eyelets or snaps and to support the fabric. It is also used in hoodies, decoration, packaging, cardboard bag handles, tote bag handles,and product labels. If it is made of cotton, it is also suitable for baby clothes. Since it is generally woven as a double weft, it does not unravel, loose and break. Needle holes do not occur.
